What makes this different from a basic touring system?

The Smart System uses separate high-performance Victron DC-DC and solar chargers, both with advanced configuration and monitoring features, giving greater control over how the system charges and operates.

Can the Orion XS be adjusted below 50A?

Yes. Its input and output current can be configured from 1A to 50A, allowing the charging system to be tailored to the vehicle and battery.

Can I add more solar later?

Yes. The SmartSolar MPPT 100/30 is rated for up to 440W nominal PV power on a 12V battery system, provided the panel array remains within the controller's voltage and current limits.

Can I monitor the system from my phone?

Yes. The Orion XS and SmartSolar MPPT support VictronConnect. The Thumper battery also has its own Bluetooth monitoring through the Thumper App.

Is this a complete installation kit?

The package includes the five major system components. Vehicle-specific battery cable, solar cable, fuses, circuit protection, isolators, mounting hardware and other installation components may still be required depending on the vehicle and system layout.
