Keep your Thumper system charged and adventure-ready with our purpose-built TURL In-Car Charging Kit. Ideal for caravans, touring vehicles, and off-grid setups, this kit provides a safe, reliable, and professionally designed charging solution while you’re on the move.

Installed under the bonnet, the system delivers a heavy-duty charging line to the rear of the vehicle, allowing you to conveniently charge Thumper battery systems and accessories when driving.

The ignition-activated relay ensures the charging circuit operates only when the vehicle is running, automatically isolating when the ignition is switched OFF to protect your starter battery.

Why an Ignition-Activated Relay Matters

Modern vehicles — particularly those with smart alternators — often produce fluctuating voltages that can affect charging performance.

The TURL system provides:

Using the TURL Kit with a DC-DC Charger

Many DC-DC chargers are voltage sensitive and require sufficient input voltage to engage.

In some vehicles, charging voltage may drop while driving, causing chargers to disengage. Some users override voltage sensing to maintain charging — but this can also override the charger’s isolation function.

When fitted, the TURL kit acts as the primary isolator, ensuring:

✔ Starter battery protection
✔ Reliable charge delivery

This makes the kit particularly valuable for modern vehicles and mixed charging setups.

Installation Overview

The TURL kit is designed for clean integration into most vehicles.

General fitting principles:

• Relay mount installs under the bonnet near the starter battery
• Heavy-duty twin core cable runs to the rear of the vehicle
• Ignition trigger wire connects to an ignition-active source
• Anderson connection provides easy battery system interface

Larger cable upgrades are recommended to be run externally with mechanical protection.

For customers unsure about installation, professional fitting is strongly recommended.
