The Enerdrive | Dometic 40A+ DC2DC Battery Charger is a powerful, multi-input, fully automatic charger capable of delivering up to 50A of charging power. It intelligently charges your house battery from either your vehicle's alternator or from solar input using the built-in MPPT solar controller—switching seamlessly between the two without any external relays.
Perfect for off-grid and mobile power setups, this charger supports 12V or 24V vehicle inputs, and solar arrays up to 45V / 800W. It’s compatible with a wide range of battery types including Gel, AGM, Flooded, Lithium, and even fully custom programmable profiles.

⚠️ Note: Vehicle input must be higher than output voltage to achieve full 50A charging.
Solar input is limited to 30A, but higher output is possible with higher voltage solar panels.
Multistage Charging Explained
- Bulk/Boost: Rapid charge at full output until absorption voltage is reached (~80% of battery capacity).
- Absorption: Voltage held steady while current tapers—completing the charge safely.
- Float: Voltage reduced to a safe level to maintain the battery and support loads without overcharging.
- Selectable 2-stage or 3-stage modes ensure flexibility for different battery chemistries.
Smart Charging & Load Management
The charger automatically regulates based on active loads, avoiding damage caused by prolonged bulk charging when loads are detected. This maximises battery life and improves efficiency across all battery types.
